A cornerstone of our work is our innovative and culturally grounded Golden Era Hip-Hop Therapeutic Programming Model, which utilizes Hip-Hop culture as a vehicle for healing, self-expression, identity development, and trauma recovery. Drawing inspiration from the teachings and philosophies of KRS-One and the principles of Hip-Hop as a transformative educational and social movement, our programming engages youth in meaningful dialogue and therapeutic exploration that helps unearth, process, and heal trauma while strengthening self-worth and community connection.
Our Hip-Hop programming is rooted in the Five Elements of Hip-Hop:
-
MCing (Emceeing/Rap)
-
DJing
-
Breaking (Breakdancing)
-
Graffiti Art
-
Knowledge of Self
We place particular emphasis on the Fifth Element—Knowledge of Self, which serves as the foundation for self-awareness, emotional intelligence, cultural identity, critical thinking, social consciousness, and personal responsibility. Through this element, youth are encouraged to explore their lived experiences, understand the impact of trauma, develop healthy coping skills, and become positive contributors to their families and communities.

Through clinical treatment, mentoring, educational support, leadership development, creative arts, community engagement, and collaborative partnerships, we strive to create safe spaces where individuals can heal, grow, and thrive.

Ibukun Comprehensive Community Services proudly collaborates with community-based organizations, schools, healthcare providers, faith communities, advocacy groups, and cultural institutions that share our vision of building healthier families, stronger neighborhoods, and more equitable communities.
As a Medicaid-certified behavioral health organization, we are committed to increasing access to quality mental health care and reducing barriers to treatment. We currently accept:
-
Blue Cross Blue Shield
-

-

-
